Adventura expands two lines
Adventura expands two lines. ADV & McKay Cigars are releasing two new vitolas in existing lines next month. A toro and a Corona, both made at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic.
ADV & McKay cigars is the brainchild of Henderson Ventura and Marcel Knobel. The two are characters in an adventure story where they set sail to discover new worlds. During these expeditions, they discover tobacco and create cigars with them. All the cigars in the ADVentura portfolio play a part in the storyline behind the brand.
ADVentura The Conquerer
The Conquerer is the third blend of ADVentura after The Explorer and The Navigator. The storyline goes were on their way back from their exploration but felt that they didn’t have enough treasures to impress the royal family. Then they smelled something amazing in the air coming from a small island. They conquered the island to bring something worthy to the royal family.
The Conquerer is available in two regular production sizes for Europe. The Canonero measures 7×60 and the Marinero is a 5×52 Robusto. In 2019, at the release of the line, there was also a 7×40 Lancero. In the USA, there are other sizes: a 6×60 Capitan and a 5×50 Comandante. ADVentura now adds a 6×54 Toro. It is unclear if this is a size exclusively for the EU or the USA, or that both markets get this new toro.
The blend is made with an H2000 wrapper from Ecuador. The binder is Indonesian with filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The tobacco is all aged for a minimum of four years. After rolling, ADV & McKay let the cigars age for 4 to 6 months as well. The boxes of the ADVentura The Conqueror represent a ship.

ADVentura The Royal Return
The Royal Return line continues on The Conquerer story. Now that they rule the island, Kiskeya, they take advantage of the abundant leaves. They explore, navigate, and conquer, to provide the gift of camaraderie, nostalgia, and time. A gift that no other explorers have returned to the king and queen with. And with this gift, a reputation that travels far and wide.
The result is two blends. The Queens Pearls, with a Connecticut Shade wrapper and The Kings Gold. The Kings Gold has a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. We recently reviewed the 5×52 ADVentura The Royal Return Kings Gold Robusto. That is one of the two vitolas available. There is also a 6×54 Toro. But soon ADVentura The Royal Return Kings Gold will also be available as a 6×44 Corona.
The blend starts with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper from the United States. A San Andres binder from Mexico surrounds the filler. Filler which comes from the Dominican Republic, United States of America, and Nicaragua. The tobacco gets to age 5 years before production. And after rolling the cigars rest for an additional four months.
