Aging Room Blue Amber Marks 15th Anniversary with Dominican-Inspired Blend
Aging Room Celebrates 15 Years with Blue Amber Collection
To celebrate its 15th anniversary, Aging Room Cigars has unveiled a stunning new line inspired by one of the Dominican Republic’s rarest treasures: blue amber. This fossilised resin, naturally coloured by the compound perylene, captures the essence of the island’s landscape and now lends its name and story to the Aging Room Blue Amber line.
Inspired by Dominican Origins
Although produced in Nicaragua, the blend incorporates Dominican tobaccos that tie directly to the gem’s birthplace. According to Rafael Nodal, owner of Aging Room and Vice President of Product Capability at Tabacalera USA, the tobaccos originate near Las Cumbres in the Cordillera Septentrional mountains, close to the blue amber mines.
Nodal explained: “The tobaccos used in this blend come from fields nestled near the very earth that produces the gem. The same mineral-rich soil nourishes the leaves, giving them refined complexity and a perfectly harmonious flavour.”
The mountain air and unique terroir of this region overlook the famed Cibao Valley, one of the Dominican Republic’s most important tobacco-growing areas.
Crafted by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua
Like many Aging Room releases, Blue Amber is handcrafted by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua. The cigar features a Nicaraguan wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers, with the Dominican component grown near the amber-rich mountains.

The Aging Room Blue Amber will debut in four sizes, each presented in striking blue boxes of 20 accented with brass:
