AJ Fernandez Adds New World Connecticut Churchill
The 7×50 Churchill is the sixth regular production size for the mildest New World offspring. The cigar comes in boxes of ten cigars. The wrapper is Connecticut Shade with a Mexican San Andres binder. The filler is Nicaraguan and Brazilian.
New World lines
The first release of the New World line was in 2014. It is a project by A.J. Fernandez with his father Ismael. Ismael retired after working with the Plasencia family for almost 2 decades. He immediately started working with his son on the New World blend. Not without success, as the A.J. Fernandez is a cigar that’s still selling well after six years. The name is a tribute to cigar producing countries that are not Cuba.
The New World line is so popular that several offsprings are available. The first offspring is New World Connecticut. That line uses a Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Mexican binder. The filler comes from Nicaragua and Brazil. And it’s a true Connecticut Shade, grown in the United States. Genuine Connecticut Shade instead of a variety from a different country.
The Puro Especial is also a special release. That cigar uses tobacco solely from Esteli. All the tobacco comes from the farms of Abdel Fernandez. The latest line addition came last year. The New World Cameroon is the first time that Fernandez works with this rare, expensive but tasty wrapper. The binder and filler are Nicaraguan.
