AJ Fernandez Ships New World Decenio to Mark 10 Years of the Celebrated Line
A.J. Fernandez is shipping New World Decenio, a commemorative line celebrating a decade of the popular New World brand. Featuring a bold blend and box-pressed vitolas, the release follows its spring debut at PCA 2025.
To celebrate ten years of the New World cigar brand, A.J. Fernandez has launched a special edition line named New World Decenio. The cigars began shipping to retailers last week, following their preview at the PCA trade show in New Orleans earlier this year.
The name Decenio, meaning “decade” in Spanish, signals this line’s commemorative intent. It’s a tribute to a brand that has become a staple in humidors worldwide since its debut in 2014.
New World Decenio is offered in three soft box-pressed sizes: Robusto (5½ x 54), Toro (6½ x 54), and Gordo (6 x 58). Retail prices range from $12.50 to $15. These vitolas offer a comfortable hand feel and a slow, even burn.
Blended for a medium-to-full-bodied profile, Decenio features a dark Mexican wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a mix of long-fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras. Smokers can expect a rich flavour experience, balanced between spice, depth, and earthiness—hallmarks of Fernandez’s signature blending style.
Fire at the factory
Although a fire earlier this year disrupted operations at Fernandez’s Estelí factory, New World Decenio remained unaffected. That’s because production was handled at his San Lotano facility in Ocotál, Nicaragua, the second factory owned and operated by A.J. Fernandez.
Importantly, the Decenio was intentionally released a year after the A.J. Fernandez 20th Anniversary line, to avoid overshadowing either release. This careful planning speaks to the brand’s thoughtful approach to legacy and product strategy.
New World Decenio stands as a milestone release—honouring ten years of blending innovation, consistency, and acclaim in the premium cigar world. It’s a fitting chapter in the story of a brand that helped define modern Nicaraguan cigar craftsmanship.
