AJ Fernandez Unveils New World Decenio Ahead of PCA 2025

April 8, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Despite a recent factory fire, AJ Fernandez is pressing ahead with the debut of its New World Decenio line at the 2025 PCA Trade Show. The release marks a decade of the acclaimed New World brand.

AJ Fernandez is gearing up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its popular New World line with the launch of New World Decenio, a new series set to be unveiled at the 2025 PCA Convention & Trade Show. The release comes in the wake of a serious fire at the company’s flagship factory in Estelí, Nicaragua earlier this week. However, operations continue at the San Lotano Factory in Ocotal, where the Decenio is being produced.

The New World Decenio blend features a Mexican wrapper, paired with a Nicaraguan binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers—a composition that promises complexity and balance, with a nod to both tradition and innovation.

The line will be available in three vitolas:
• Robusto (5 1/2 x 54) – $12.50 each | Box of 20: $250
• Toro (6 1/2 x 54) – $14 each | Box of 20: $280
• Gordo (6 x 58) – $15 each | Box of 20: $300

“We’re very excited to release Decenio because New World is a staple of the AJ Fernandez portfolio,” said Jadilah Fernández in a press release. “My dad strives to continually challenge what people expect from him while remaining true to himself and his blending style. We hope Decenio will become an instant classic.”

Founder Abdel Fernández also spoke to Nicaraguan media about the fire that recently struck the Estelí factory. While the damage has halted production there, he expressed confidence that cigar rolling would resume within a month.

The New World Decenio is expected to begin shipping in mid-May, offering aficionados a new expression from one of Nicaragua’s most respected blenders—despite the recent challenges
