Alec Bradley is bringing back a classic
Alec Bradley is bringing back a classic. The Alec Bradley Trilogy is coming back as a limited edition and it’s a nod to the past. It is a throwback to the times between 2002 and 2010 when the Alec Bradley Trilogy was a regular production cigar in three different blends. And all three blends are coming back. 1000 boxes of each blend, with 10 cigars in a box. And there will be a special batch in a smaller size as a retailer exclusive.
Even though the Alec Bradley Trilogy has been out of production for over a decade, people still ask about it. During one of his Kiss My Ash radio shows, host Abe Dababneh was pushing Alec Bradley founder Alan Rubin to bring the Trilogy back. Abe Dababneh is also the owner of the Smoke Inn chain of retail stores in Southern Florida. Because he was the one requesting the cigars, Smoke Inn will get a 5×50 version of the new Alec Bradley Trilogy, exclusively for the Smoke Inn retail stores.
Three blends
Just as the original Trilogy, there will be three blends. Authentic Corojo, Exotic Maduro, and Native Cameroon. After two years of blending, and trying to match the original flavor profiles, Alec Bradley feels that the Alec Bradley Trilogy is ready to make a comeback. The cigars have identical blends on the inside, made with Connecticut seed binders grown in Honduras, and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras. The wrapper of the Authentic Corojo is Honduran Corojo from the Jamastran Valley. The wrapper of the Exotic Maduro comes from Japan, Nicaragua. And the Native Cameroon has, as the name gives away, African Cameroon as a wrapper.
Each of the blends will come in a 6×52 Toro size. The Plasencia family is responsible for rolling the cigars at their Tabacos De Oriente factory in Honduras. Plasencia is also responsible for creating another oddly shaped Alec Bradley cigar, the Diamond Rough Cut. That diamond shape was an annual release for the Nica Puro line until its discontinuation. Now it is an annual release for the Alec Bradley Black Market.

The idea
Alan Rubin came with the Alec Bradley Trilogy after a complaint. A colleague said to Rubin that there were just too many round cigars on the market. Rubin remembered those words while shopping for hardware. He was a DeWalt saw a demonstration and the saw was able to cut angles. Rubin bought the saw and created a triangle-shaped cigar mold. The first cigars were just an experiment in Rubin’s garage before he approached the factory to create triangle-shaped cigars.
