Another cigar warehouse in Miami was burglarized

July 18, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Another cigar warehouse in Miami was burglarized. Over the last couple of years, a string of cigar warehouses in south Florida have been robbed of their cigars. The latest victims are Patoro Cigars and CLE cigars. The Swiss Patoro brand uses the warehouse of Christian Eiroa in Miami as their American logistic hub. Unfortunately this won’t end as long as there are buyers for stolen cigars.

Burglars took not all cigars, but they took a considerable amount of cigars from both the CLE assortment which includes the CLE, Eiroa, Wynwood, and Asylum brands as well as a large collection of Patoro cigars. Patoro says they can fulfill orders directly from their warehouse in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Pablo Richard and Christian Eiroa urge all retailers to contact law enforcement and CLE or Patoro when someone offers these cigars for sale.

String of robberies

The last cigar warehouse robbed was the warehouse of JRE Tobacco Company. That’s the company of Julio and Justo Eiroa, the father and brother of Christian. Other recent victims are Indian Head and Casa Cuevas, all in the last year. Indianhead is the distribution company for La Galera, Sans Pareil, La Instructora, and Indianhead Cigars.

Since 2013, other warehouses that were robbed Alec Bradley, where burglars came in through the roof. Florida Distributors was robbed twice that same year. Florida Distributors deals with machine-made cigars. In the years after, A.J. Fernandez Cigar Company and Gurkha Cigars had the same problems with burglars. And a 40-foot container from Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia disappeared from Miami harbor. That container had cigars from Arturo Fuente, Sosa Cigars, and J.C. Newman.
