Arturo Fuente Confirms Long-Term Cameroon Supply with New Tobacco Partner
Arturo Fuente secures a new Cameroon supplier and confirms strong future supply, addressing recent rumours with clarity and confidence.
Arturo Fuente Strengthens Its Cameroon Supply Chain
Arturo Fuente has announced a new chapter in its Cameroon tobacco sourcing. The company confirmed that it now works with Universal Leaf Tobacco Co., one of the world’s largest growers. The first shipment has already arrived in the Dominican Republic, putting an end to speculation about dwindling supply.
A Response to Rumours
Recent rumours suggested that Fuente faced shortages of Cameroon wrapper leaf. These claims circulated widely after the brand ended its long-standing relationship with former supplier M. Meerapfel Söhn. In response, the company released a video showing the arrival of a full 40-foot refrigerated container of African Cameroon.
Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. spoke directly to customers, reassuring them that the brand remains well stocked. He addressed concerns head-on, noting the affection and support he received from smokers during the Big Smoke event in Las Vegas.
A Clear Message from Carlito Fuente
In the video, Carlito stressed that the company has ample tobacco reserves. He highlighted that rumours about supply shortages were unfounded. He emphasised that Fuente now has Cameroon wrapper for years to come, supported by a steady pipeline from Universal Leaf Tobacco Co.
Long-Term Planning Remains Central
Fuente produces tens of millions of handmade cigars each year. Many rely on Cameroon wrapper leaf, including iconic lines such as Fuente Don Carlos and the Hemingway series. The company has always kept significant reserves of tobacco to support long-term production. The new partnership reinforces that strategy.
Carlos Fuente Jr. told Cigar Aficionado that his commitment to customers remains firm. He underlined that fans of Don Carlos and Hemingway cigars can expect consistent availability well into the future.
A New Era of Security and Stability
The shift to Universal Leaf marks a major operational change for Fuente. It signals a renewed focus on stability, transparency and long-term planning. The first shipment represents the beginning of an ongoing supply line designed to support the company’s production at scale.
