Arturo Fuente Unveils OpusX 25 Perfecto: A Milestone Release

Arturo Fuente has started 2025 with an exciting announcement: the release of the OpusX 25 Perfecto. A select number of retailers have received this exclusive cigar, also known as Fuente Fuente OpusX La Familia X to the 25th Power or La Familia X25.

This stunning new size of the OpusX 25 blend was not entirely unexpected, as it was showcased during the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show. However, Arturo Fuente had remained tight-lipped about its release until now. The cigar has an MSRP of $58, while the accompanying box—which doubles as a humidor—is priced at $500. Together, the set of 20 cigars and the luxurious box carry an MSRP of $1,660, equating to approximately $83 per cigar. Remarkably, the complete package weighs almost 17 pounds.

The OpusX 25 blend first debuted in November 2021, originally available in a 7 x 50 Churchill vitola exclusively packaged with two high-end Elie Bleu humidors. Prices ranged from $9,250 for a smaller humidor with 25 cigars to $70,000 for a larger option containing 144 cigars. Since then, the blend has also appeared in Arturo Fuente’s The Impossible Collection samplers.

While the blend’s specifics remain undisclosed, it is widely believed to be a variation of the OpusX line, featuring 100% Dominican tobaccos from the Chateau de la Fuente farm. Each box of the new La Familia X25 contains 20 cigars: eight displayed at the top and 12 on the bottom row. Each cigar is housed in an innovative metal coffin with a flip-top lid and an internal mechanism that elevates the cigar upon opening. Also included is a mysterious key, with further details about its purpose promised later in 2025.

This exclusive release has been distributed to a limited number of American retailers, alongside two OpusX ForbiddenX cigars, previously exclusive to Dubai Duty-Free. These include the ForbiddenX Dubai Exclusivo Duty Free Red 52 (5 x 52) and Red 56 (5 3/4 x 56), priced at $30.50 and $34.95 respectively. While these Dubai exclusives are a one-time offering for the U.S. market, they further underscore Arturo Fuente’s commitment to innovation and exclusivity in the cigar world.
