Asylum and Cigar Dojo Release Limited-Edition “Oy Vey” Cigar
Asylum Cigars and Cigar Dojo are back with a fresh collaboration. Following their 2022 hit Meshugana, the duo introduces “Oy Vey” — a limited-edition cigar inspired by playful Yiddish slang. This new release promises bold flavours and a first-ever Cameroon wrapper for the partnership.
A Name with Character
“Oy vey” is a Yiddish phrase expressing surprise or exasperation. In this release, it reflects both humour and flavour. The cigar captures the fun spirit of Meshugana while heading in a new direction.
Cigar Dojo owner Eric Guttormson shared that the project gave them a chance to explore fresh territory. “It’s our first Cameroon-wrapped cigar, and the flavour profile is unlike anything we’ve done before.”
The Oy Vey Blend
The blend starts with a reddish-hued, toothy Cameroon wrapper. Beneath lies a Mexican binder and a dual-core filler of ligero Habano and seco Corojo. Rolled in a single 6” x 52 toro format, Oy Vey offers a medium-plus strength profile.
Expect warm baking spice, ginger snap, nutmeg, and dry cedar. A touch of red pepper emerges through the retrohale, adding complexity.
Release and Availability
Like Meshugana, Oy Vey will roll out in stages. An extremely limited quantity debuts at Cigar Dojo’s “Dochella” pre-party on 14 August, ahead of the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival (RMCF). Most of the 150 RMCF bundles will sell to attendees on 16 August.
An additional 150 bundles will be available online via Smoke Inn Cigars from 18 August. Each bundle holds 10 cigars and retails for $120 ($12 per cigar).
