Canteros and Les Fines Lames. The only distributor of New World cigars in New Zealand is Canteros. And besides cigars, Canteros carries pipe-tobacco, pipes, humidors, and accessories. They are the distributor for Boveda, Xikar, Colibri, and Select Draw. But now Canteros is adding an accessory brand. The famous cigar knives from France: Les Fines Lames.

In 2016 a new cigar knife was seen on the social media channels of a select number of influencers. It was a concept by a French cigar aficionado who decided to design and make cigar knives. Made in France with the highest quality and in limited editions with unique materials. The brand received enough backing on a crowdfunding website to make it into production and has been a success since.

In 2019, Les Fines Flames introduced a smaller version of their knife: Le Petit. And again, crowdfunding was the way to finance and introduce the miniature version. It exceeded its goal several times and over 900 knives were sold. Since the initial introduction, several different versions came to the market. Such as the collaboration with Havana Club. And a collaboration with Casdagli Cigars. Plus a skyline series and a compass series. Les Fines Lames also works with artists to create tattoo series. 

New Zealand

For now, only the Les Petit is coming to New Zealand. In several versions. We reached out to Canteros to see which series of Le Petit by Les Fines Lames are available to the New Zealand cigar enthusiasts. The answer came as “Le Petit Classic Series and Special Series, a good mix of colors and special blades”. Canteros also carries the leather sheets for the knives and matching cigar stands.
