Canteros Restructures as Long White Cloud Distributors Launches in New Zealand
Canteros Limited has restructured its operations in New Zealand, separating retail and wholesale services. Founder Grant Ovenden has launched Long White Cloud Distributors to handle national cigar distribution while Canteros continues as a retail tobacconist.
New Zealand’s cigar industry has entered a new phase with the restructuring of Canteros Limited. The long-standing tobacconist and distributor, led by industry veteran Grant Ovenden, is now focusing its retail services under the Canteros name, while launching a new wholesale and distribution company: Long White Cloud Distributors.
This strategic shift aims to streamline operations across the cigar supply chain in New Zealand. “This new chapter allows each business to operate with clarity and precision,” said Ovenden in a press release. “Retail customers will continue to enjoy the expertise and personal service Canteros is known for, while our trade partners will benefit from dedicated wholesale support, faster service, and access to one of the most comprehensive selections of premium cigars and tobacco products in New Zealand.”
Long White Cloud Distributors services tobacconists, specialty retailers, and the hospitality industry nationwide. Its impressive portfolio includes well-known brands such as LOFB Cigars, Kafie 1901, Micallef, J.C. Newman, Arturo Fuente, Meerapfel, Rocky Patel, Perdomo, Fratello, Drew Estate, Joya de Nicaragua, Padron, Oliva, HVC, Ashton, and many more.
The company also distributes cigar accessories from top names including Boveda, Colibri, Firebird, Xikar, Lotus, Vertigo, Craftsman’s Bench, Savoy, and Commonwealth Cedar Spills. Pipe enthusiasts will find pipe tobaccos from Lane, Peterson, Amphora, Cornell & Diehl, and G.L. Pease, along with pipes from Brigham, Peterson, and Savinelli.
To improve efficiency and buying power, Long White Cloud Distributors has secured warehouse space in Miami. The facility allows the consolidation of products from various suppliers, with shipments to the company’s Christchurch base departing up to three times weekly.
Ovenden, who is celebrating 30 years in New Zealand’s cigar industry, also confirmed plans to expand into the Australian market in the near future. This bold move cements Long White Cloud Distributors as a central force in the region’s premium tobacco supply chain.
