January 18, 2023 Inspector L 1 min read

In February, Casa 1910 will release its third cigar, and when they do the company will have cigars from three different countries. Currently they make cigars in Mexico, with Antigua de Estelí in Nicaragua and the new cigar, the Soldadera Edition will be made at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic. The Soldadera is a tribute to all the women who contributed to the Mexican revolution and the line will consists of 3 vitolas.

The three sizes are a 5½x58 La Coronela that honours Amelia Robles. She was a soldier in Emiliano Zapata’s army. The second size is a 5×50 Sampetrina which honours Petra Herrera who fought in Pancho Villa’s army and led a group of female soldiers later in the revolution. And then there is a 6×52 Tentiente Angela, which honours Angela Jimenez, who fought with both Villa and Zapata.

The La Coronela is made with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Brazilian Arapiraca binder and filler from the Dominican and Mexico. The Sampetrina has an undisclosed blend, except for the knowledge that it has a shade-grown wrapper from undisclosed origin. The Tentiente Angela blend is completely undisclosed. The cigars come in boxes of 10 or bundles of 25.
