Casa Carrillo Launches La Historia Silk, a Family-Crafted Toro

August 23, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Casa Carrillo expands its La Historia line with the new Silk cigar. This medium-bodied toro is a family collaboration inspired by the next generation of Casa Carrillo enthusiasts.

A Unique Family Collaboration

Unlike many Casa Carrillo releases, Silk didn’t originate solely from Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. His daughter, Lissette, noticed more female smokers at industry events and stores. She began asking about their preferences and experimented with several blends.

“I started creating blends based on three wrappers. Once we decided on Ecuador Habano, my dad and I extensively worked on it together,” says Lissette.

Also involved was Lissette’s daughter, Skye, representing the third generation of the Casa Carrillo family. The project became a true collaborative effort.

La Historia Silk Specifications

The Silk line is a 6 x 52 toro, round rather than box-pressed like other La Historia cigars. It features:

  • Wrapper: Ecuador Habano from Quevedo

  • Binder: Estelí, Nicaragua

  • Fillers: Nicaraguan Estelí, Pennsylvania Broadleaf, Dominican La Canela, Mexican San Andrés

Casa Carrillo describes the cigar as medium-bodied, designed for a wide audience. Lissette emphasises:

“This is a cigar for everyone that’s inspired by women.”

Packaging and Availability

Silk will retail at $16.50 and comes in 10-count boxes. The first shipment includes 1,500 boxes, with additional limited batches planned later this year.

This release also introduces a new foot band reading ‘Casa Carrillo’, part of the brand’s ongoing rebranding efforts.

By blending tradition with new perspectives, La Historia Silk reflects Casa Carrillo’s commitment to quality, innovation, and inclusivity across generations.
