Cavalier Genève Unveils Project Broadleaf Cowrider as Final 2025 Release
Cavalier Genève Cigars closes its first Project Broadleaf year with the Cowrider, a limited 6.5 x 50 Parejo featuring a five-year-aged Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.
Project Broadleaf Concludes Its First Year
Cavalier Genève Cigars has announced the fourth and final Project Broadleaf release for 2025: the Project Broadleaf Cowrider. This final iteration marks the close of the line’s inaugural year and debuts with a special white-and-gold band, replacing the usual white, black and gold presentation.
A New Direction for Cavalier’s Portfolio
Project Broadleaf stands apart in Cavalier’s range. Due to the difficulty of sourcing premium Connecticut Broadleaf, the company created a core line delivered as four yearly releases, each with a unique size and distinct blend. The line allows Cavalier to explore Broadleaf in small, carefully designed batches.
Introducing the Project Broadleaf Cowrider
The Cowrider pays tribute to Switzerland, the home country of founder Sébastien Decoppet. The release playfully references Swiss landscapes known for their grazing cattle. It arrives in a single size: a 6.5 x 50 Parejo, presented in 10-count gold metallic foil bundles.
A Blend Built Around Aged Broadleaf
The Cowrider uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that has undergone more than three years of fermentation, followed by a full year of rest in bale. This brings the tobacco’s total age to over five years.
The binder is Connecticut Shade, while the filler includes tobacco from Jamastran, Indonesia and Estelí. As with every Project Broadleaf cigar, the blend is exclusive to this release.
The MSRP is $177 per 10-count pack.
A Swiss-Inspired Finale
Decoppet explained that the final 2025 Project Broadleaf release draws on his Swiss upbringing. He emphasised that each instalment in the series features unique artwork and a custom blend. The Cowrider continues that approach, offering a final chapter in the brand’s first full Broadleaf exploration.
Looking Ahead
Cavalier Genève plans to make all four Project Broadleaf releases annual offerings. While blends may see subtle refinements over time, each cigar will maintain its individual character. All production for the series takes place at Cavalier’s Fabrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. (FCT).
