Cayman Cigar Co. Refreshes Core Lines with New Blends and Packaging

September 11, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Cayman Cigar Co. has relaunched its three core lines: Mariner, Monarch, and Sovereign II. The company has introduced new blends, vitolas, and packaging while shifting some production to different factories.

Production in Two Countries

The refreshed lines will be produced in both the Dominican Republic and the Cayman Islands. Cigars bound for American retailers will be rolled at Tabacalera La iSLA in the Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, cigars for the Cayman Islands and the U.K. will be made locally.

Chief operating officer Anthony Cantelmo explained that the company imports tobacco to ensure consistency. This guarantees identical blends regardless of where the cigars are made. Previously, all three lines were produced exclusively in the Cayman Islands.

Cayman Cigar Co. Mariner

The Mariner now features an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper, a Dominican binder, and Cuban-seed fillers.

Vitolas and Pricing:

  • Mariner Gordo (6 x 60) — $14 (Box of 20, $280)

  • Mariner Toro (6 x 56) — $13.50 (Box of 20, $270)

  • Mariner Robusto (5 x 52) — $13 (Box of 20, $260)

Cayman Cigar Co. Monarch

The Monarch blend uses a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and Cuban-seed fillers.

Vitolas and Pricing:

  • Monarch Gordo (6 x 60) — $14 (Box of 20, $280)

  • Monarch Toro (6 x 56) — $13.50 (Box of 20, $270)

  • Monarch Robusto (5 x 52) — $13 (Box of 20, $260)

Cayman Cigar Co. Sovereign II

The Sovereign II features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, a Dominican binder, and Cuban-seed fillers. Unlike the other two lines, this blend does not contain ligero.

Vitolas and Pricing:

  • Sovereign II Gordo (6 x 60) — $12 (Box of 20, $240)

  • Sovereign II Toro (6 x 56) — $11 (Box of 20, $220)

  • Sovereign II Robusto (5 x 52) — $10 (Box of 20, $200)

The Gordo vitola has yet to reach retailers. Cayman Cigar Co. expects it to ship within the next few weeks.

Honouring Legacy and Supporting Charities

In a press release, Cantelmo said:

“Mariner, Sovereign II, and Monarch have been the foundation of our brand from the very beginning. With this refresh, we’re honouring their legacy while bringing them forward with a look, feel, and format that better reflects who Cayman Cigar Company is today.”

Cayman Cigar Co. remains committed to philanthropy. The company donates all profits to charities supporting entrepreneurship for marginalised groups, American veterans, and addiction recovery programmes.
