Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edicion Limitada Heading to Beirut
Phoenicia Trading, the world largest distributor of Cuban cigars will get the first shipment of the cigars and will be releasing it in Beirut first before shipping to other countries in its territory. But stocks are limited, and prices are insanely high. The cigars will sell for USD $300 per cigar in Beirut at the duty-free store. In duty paid stores, the prices will even be higher especially in countries with high tobacco tax.
Last week, Habanos launches the cigars at an outdoor event in Cyprus, hosted by Phoenicia. At the same time, there were launching events in Greece, Iraq, the Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, all of which are countries that get their cigars from Phoenicia Trading. The launch was broadcasted live over the internet.
The cigar is a 5 7/8×57 toro gordo with a pigtail with the factory name Victoria. The cigar was supposed to be released in 2021, but as usual with Cuban releases, the release date wasn’t met.
The cigars come in 10-count boxes, but special-edition five-packs of the cigar will also be available throughout Phoenicia’s territory. Only 10,000 are being produced.
This five-pack of Cohiba 55 Aniversarios was made exclusively for Phoenicia Trading and its territory. Only 10,000 were produced.
When other official Habanos distributors will get the cigars is yet unknown. But due to the uniformed price policy Habanos recently adopted, where global prices are now uniformly priced to the Hong Kong market, the cigars will be $300 or more everywhere.
