Cohiba Behike BHK Sampler Tops $2,000 in Switzerland
Cohiba’s flagship Behike line has reached a new price level in Switzerland. A four-cigar Behike BHK sampler now carries a retail price exceeding $2,000.
A Sampler Born at the Festival del Habano
Habanos S.A. marked the 15th anniversary of the Behike BHK line last year. The celebration included the debut of the new Behike BHK 58. Festival del Habano XXV attendees received the cigar inside a four-count sampler.
That same sampler will now reach global retailers. Pricing confirms its ultra-premium positioning.
Swiss Release Dates and Pricing
Intertabak AG, the Swiss distributor of Cuban cigars, has confirmed local availability. La Casa del Habano stores will receive the sampler on February 3. Habanos Specialists will follow on February 10.
The price stands at CHF 1,696, equal to roughly $2,145. This positions the sampler among the most expensive Cuban retail offerings to date.
What’s Inside the Behike BHK Sampler
Four Flagship Vitolas
Each sampler contains one cigar from every Behike BHK size:
Cohiba Behike BHK 52 (4 3/4 x 52) — 2010
Cohiba Behike BHK 54 (5 2/3 x 54) — 2010
Cohiba Behike BHK 56 (6 1/2 x 56) — 2010
Cohiba Behike BHK 58 (7 x 58) — 2026
The inclusion of the new BHK 58 drives much of the interest. The size expands the line to its largest ring gauge yet.
Price Context Across Markets
In Spain, Cuban cigar pricing remains among the lowest globally. The three existing Behike BHK cigars sell there between €230 and €320 per stick. The Swiss sampler reflects a significant premium above those figures.
Packaging and NFC Technology
The retail samplers closely resemble the Festival versions. The packaging includes NFC technology as an anti-counterfeiting measure. The chip now appears more discreetly integrated.
Habanos S.A. confirms the NFC chip sits within the main cigar band. This feature supports authenticity checks across markets.
What the Pricing Signals
Standalone pricing for the BHK 58 remains unannounced. The sampler price may not translate directly to single-cigar sales. Market expectations currently point to pricing near $500 per cigar.
At present, only the Cohiba Ideales exceeds that threshold in regular retail.
Behike’s Place in Cohiba History
Habanos S.A. introduced the Behike BHK line in 2010. The release celebrated Cohiba’s 45th anniversary. The cigars stood out for larger ring gauges and the use of medio tiempo tobacco.
Medio tiempo refers to a rare priming. Fewer than ten percent of plants produce these topmost leaves. The leaves remain smaller but deliver greater intensity due to increased sun exposure.
The BHK line differs entirely from the original Behike release. That cigar appeared as a limited edition for Cohiba’s 40th anniversary.
Next month, Habanos S.A. will celebrate Cohiba’s 60th anniversary at the Festival del Habano XXVI.
