Cohiba Gran Reserva Set to Launch in Switzerland for Over $600 Per Cigar Cohiba Espléndidos Gran Reserva Cosecha 2017 Debuts at Premium Price

October 14, 2024 Inspector X 2 min read

Cuban cigars have long been synonymous with luxury, and the upcoming release of the Cohiba Espléndidos Gran Reserva Cosecha 2017 is no exception. Set to hit Swiss retailers this month, this exclusive cigar will carry a hefty price tag of 534 Swiss francs (approximately $623 USD or €569 EUR), making it one of the most expensive cigars on the market.

The cigars will be sold in boxes of 15, with the full box price reaching a staggering 8,010 Swiss francs (about $9,300USD or €8532 EUR). The official launch is slated for October 22 at Casa del Habano stores across Switzerland, followed by a broader release at Swiss Habanos Specialist stores on October 29.

While Switzerland will soon see the cigars on its shelves, the Cohiba Gran Reserva has already appeared in select German markets, and there are reports that it may soon reach other parts of Europe.

Cuba’s Gran Reservas are renowned for being premium versions of some of the country’s most iconic cigars. Previous Gran Reserva releases have featured prestigious labels such as the Montecristo No. 2Partagás Lusitania, and Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona. For the Cohiba Espléndidos Gran Reserva 2017, only five-year-aged tobacco leaves were used, adding to its exclusivity and premium status, although five year aged tobacco is quite normal for other cigar producing countries.

This limited release will feature 5,000 numbered boxes, making it a sought-after collector’s item for cigar enthusiasts worldwide.
