Cohiba Robusto Reserva Cosecha 2014 released

Finally, the long-awaited Cohiba Robusto Reserva Cosecha 2014 has been released in a few countries, and the rest of the world is to follow. Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom are amongst the countries where these very expensive cigars already hit the shelves of retailers.

The yearly release of a Reserva or Gran Reserva by Habanos is one of the most prestigious cigar releases of the year. The tobacco for the Reserva cigars have been aged a minimum of three years and only the best tobacco is used. For this specific Cohiba Robusto Reserva release, the crop from 2014 has been used, hence the Cosecha 2014 addition to the name. For the Gran Reserva, tobacco has to be aged for a minimum of five years.

In total 5000 boxes of twenty cigars are produced and distributed worldwide, with the exemption of the United States of America, where Cuban cigars are not allowed to be sold due to the 1962 embargo, implemented under president John F. Kennedy, who right before he signed the bill ordered his assistant, Pierre Salinger, to get him 1200 petit H. Upmann cigars.
