CTIHK Secures Exclusive Global Rights to Distribute Great Wall Cigars
CTIHK and China Tobacco Sichuan have signed a global distribution agreement for Great Wall Cigars. This move signals an aggressive international push for China’s most dominant handmade cigar brand.
A Strategic Milestone for Chinese Cigars
On 23 July 2025, China Tobacco International (HK) Co., Ltd. (CTIHK) and China Tobacco Sichuan Industrial Co., Ltd. signed an exclusive distribution agreement at the Great Wall Cigar Factory in Shifang, Sichuan. This deal covers all international markets, except mainland China.
This agreement marks a major milestone in the global ambitions of Great Wall Cigars. It formalises the existing collaboration between CTIHK and Sichuan Tobacco and builds on distribution agreements launched in three overseas markets in 2024.
Leading the Chinese Handmade Cigar Market
Great Wall Cigars continues to dominate China’s handmade cigar industry. In the first half of 2025, the brand captured over 50% of the domestic market share. Within the premium handmade segment, that figure rises to nearly 70%.
Its slogan, “The taste of the world, the Great Wall of China”, reflects the brand’s growing international appeal. The cigars are known for their smooth profiles and distinctly Chinese craftsmanship.
From Domestic Leader to Global Challenger
CTIHK’s vision extends beyond sales. This partnership aims to create a unified international platform for Chinese cigars. The goal is to establish new export models, drive sustainable growth abroad, and increase China’s influence in global cigar culture.
Both companies want to deliver high-quality Chinese cigars to aficionados worldwide. The plan includes enhancing brand visibility, securing more distribution partnerships, and exploring new cigar business formats internationally.
Great Wall Cigar at InterTabac 2025
CTIHK will present Great Wall Cigar at InterTabac 2025, the world’s largest tobacco trade fair. Visitors can find the brand at Booth A30 in Hall 5.
This showcase represents another strong push to build Great Wall’s presence among international cigar lovers and distributors.
