Cumpay Maduro now in Switzerland
Cumpay Maduro now in Switzerland. Earlier this year, Maya Selva Cigars released a new cigar in the Cumpay line-up. In the Cumpay Puro Nicaragua line, a series of all-Nicaraguan cigars from the French Honduran cigar manufacturer. And that cigar, the 4¾x50 Cumpay Maduro Robusto is now available in Switzerland through distributor The Royal Cigar Company. The same goes for the 5×60 Cumpay Maduro Volcan.
CUMPAY
In early 1999 Maya Selva launched Cumpay. That took place after Nicaragua’s successful peace accords. With Cumpay, Selva is captivating the volcanic highlands notes of Nicaragua’s Jalapa Valley terroir. Back then Nicaragua was still one of the new and most promising cigar terroirs. She named the new line after the Tawakha Indian name for rolled tobacco leaf.
Nicaragua has over 50 volcanoes, including 5 active ones. And 7% of Nicaragua is water. The combination creates a perfect climate of heat and humidity. Combine that with fertile volcanic soil and you’ll have the perfect combination for high-quality tobacco. It delivers crop after crop of rich, corpulent tobacco with highly sought-after combustion properties.
THE CIGARS
The Cumpay Robusto Maduro measures 4¾x50 and comes in 20 count boxes. The Cumpay Maduro Volcan measures 5×60 The blend consists of a wrapper from Jalapa and a binder from Esteli. The filler is a blend of tobacco from Ometepe, Esteli, and Jalapa. The wrapper is a naturally-fermented Nicaraguan wrapper that stays true to the collection’s unique character.
Both cigars come in boxes of 20 sticks. The Cumpay Maduro Robusto has a fixed price of 210 CHF for a box, where the Cumpay Maduro Volcan comes in at 240 CHF. The price per cigar is 10.50 CFH and 12 CHF.
