Daniel Marshall’s U.S. Capitol Humidor Sells for $150,000 — A Historic Collaboration with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carlos Fuente

October 26, 2025 Inspector X 4 min read

A Record-Breaking Sale for a Historic Creation

A remarkable piece of cigar artistry and American craftsmanship has achieved record-breaking success. The United States Capitol Humidor, designed by Daniel Marshall in collaboration with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carlos Fuente, sold for $150,000 USD at auction.

Handcrafted in 2025 in Daniel Marshall’s California workshop, this 1:60 scale replica of the U.S. Capitol Building was created from original architectural drawings. The one-of-a-kind humidor was auctioned to raise funds for the After School All Stars charity, continuing a philanthropic tradition that has already generated $850,000 USD through Marshall’s series of Historic Humidors.

The Legacy of the Historic Humidor Series

Governor Schwarzenegger envisioned a collection of humidors honouring globally significant landmarks. The journey began with the HMS Resolute Desk Humidor in 2022, followed by the White House Humidor in 2023, and now culminates in the U.S. Capitol Humidor of 2025.

The international collector who secured this extraordinary piece plans to tour it across the United States—from California to Washington D.C.—with scheduled viewings at prestigious venues and museums.

An Heirloom of Craftsmanship and Art

Each humidor takes over a year to complete, comprising 200 individually hand-carved components. Every window is hand-painted by Colombian artist Juan Rosillo to replicate the reflective beauty of glass. The iconic Capitol Dome, crafted to be removable, conceals a humidified secret compartment designed to age 40 cigars.

Atop the dome sits a bronze recreation of the Statue of Freedom, meticulously sculpted by a master jeweller. The humidor’s dedication to detail reflects the grandeur of the original dome—constructed in 1856 from more than eight million pounds of cast iron.

The Presidential Cigars: A Collaboration of Legends

Inside the humidor rest 400 Daniel Marshall by Carlos Fuente Presidential Cigars, set in two Spanish cedar trays. Each cigar is handcrafted from 12-year-aged vintage tobacco sourced from Chateau de la Fuente and rolled by Fuente’s finest artisans. The cigars feature Holland-printed bands depicting six U.S. Presidents who inspired Schwarzenegger, Fuente, and Marshall.

The signatures of these presidents, along with the humidor’s story, are engraved on a solid brass plaque. Accompanying the set are six oil paintings of the presidents featured on the bands, adding a layer of artistry and historical reverence.

A Symbol of Friendship and Excellence

Daniel Marshall and Carlos Fuente’s creative partnership began with the DM 38th Anniversary Cigar in 2020, launched at the Daniel Marshall Cigar Lounge in Kitzbühel, Austria. Their collaboration continues to celebrate over 40 years of friendship and a shared pursuit of excellence in the art of cigar making.

For collectors, Daniel Marshall is currently accepting requests for the remaining two pieces in this limited edition of ten — each one a piece of cigar history, craftsmanship, and American legacy.
