Davidoff brings back Zino. With the slogan ‘live life from A to Z’ Davidoff hopes to reach open-minded and spontaneous aficionados. The Swiss company promises exciting experiences and unknown opportunities for those who take life as it comes. Who live life from A to Zino. And that A, that could be Avo, another Davidoff brand.
“The new Zino brand is inspired by people who celebrate a lifestyle and state of mind driven by experiences, open-mindedness, and an unwavering curiosity,” says Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff AG. “Zino Davidoff himself was a restless pioneer of the tobacco world and, when he set out to learn and gather experiences around the globe, he was only 19 years young. While creating the new Zino cigar brand, we aimed to suit Zino Davidoff’s sense of discovery and spirit to live in the moment, and are very excited about the result. The blend of the new Zino Cigars is sure to please those who look for earthy taste profiles with spices and some sweetness.”

The cigars
There will be three sizes of the new Zino Cigars. A 4×52 Short Torpedo, 5×54 Robusto and a 6×50 Toro. The blend consists of filler from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. The binder is from Nicaragua. The wrapper is Ecuadorian. This makes a medium-strong cigar with tasting notes of cream, fresh peppers, and milk coffee.
The boxes and packaging are striking yellow. Davidoff is going for classic 25 count cabinet boxes for premium tobacco retailers and four-count fresh packs for non-specialized retail points. The freshpacks keep the humidity level of the cigars at the perfect level for several weeks and will be available in convenience-skewed outlets. This contemporary packaging enables the consumer to keep the cigars humidified even without a humidor.
Introduction
Depending on the local Davidoff distributor in each country, the cigars will be introduced from next month, May 2021. Not every market will see the cigars in May, but the kick-off starts next month.
