Davidoff Finally Brings Back Its Classic No. 1 Lancero Cigar
Davidoff, the luxury cigar brand, is set to bring back one of its most sought-after cigars, the Davidoff Classic No. 1, with a new name, the Davidoff Signature No. 1. The cigar, which was discontinued in 2016, will return as a limited edition cigar in the U.S. on January 26, 2023.
The Davidoff Signature No. 1 is a Lancero vitola, which is a type of cigar that is 7 1/2 inches long with a ring gauge of 39. It features a pigtail and uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, an Ecuadorian hybrid 151 seco binder, and three different Dominican fillers: hybrid 192 seco, pilot seco and San Vicente seco. The Davidoff Classic No. 1’s binder was previously described as Dominican. This cigar has roots tracing back to the late 1960s when the original Davidoff No. 1 was introduced as a Cuban cigar.
Lancero is a vitola that is not commonly produced by manufacturers, which makes the Davidoff Signature No. 1 a rare and sought-after cigar. The vitola is known for its delicate balance between the wrapper, binder, and filler, which creates a unique smoking experience. The Lancero also has a thinner ring gauge, which allows the smoker to taste the full flavor of the tobacco.
The Davidoff Signature No. 1 will be available in 5,000 boxes of 10 cigars, with a suggested retail price of $28 per cigar. The release of the cigar coincides with a new marketing campaign from Davidoff called “The White Band is The Difference,” which focuses on the company’s quality control.
The return of the Davidoff Classic No. 1, now known as the Davidoff Signature No. 1, is a treat for cigar enthusiasts and collectors. The cigar’s unique blend of tobacco, combined with its rare vitola, make it a must-have for anyone looking to experience the best in luxury cigar smoking.
