Davidoff re-releases the Robusto Intenso
Davidoff re-releases the Robusto Intenso. Fifteen years after the original limited edition release, another batch is released. And again as a limited edition. Only 110.800 cigars are produced. 101.000 of them are packed in boxes of ten cigars. The remaining 9800 cigars are packed in 1960 boxes of five. The boxes of five cigars are exclusively available for Davidoff’s Global Travel Retail partners.
Six tobaccos
The cigar, which comes in the original 5⅛x52 vitola, is created using six tobaccos. All the tobaccos are aged up to 7 years. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano, while all the other tobaccos used are Dominican. The six stars on the secondary band represent the six tobaccos used.
Edward Simon, chief marketing officer at Oettinger Davidoff AG, said “In the year 2005 Davidoff’s Master Blenders delivered on a pioneering challenge true to our founder Zino Davidoff: to create a cigar experience that is intense and complex, yet also exhilarant and smooth. For this task, they had masterfully achieved to blend tobaccos from five different regions of the Dominican Republic with an Ecuadorian wrapper and created the famed and highly decorated Robusto Intenso. We are honored to give aficionados the pleasure to enjoy this icon of the art of blending again after almost 15 years of waiting.”
Vintage blend series
The Davidoff Robusto Intenso is part of the Davidoff Vintage Blend Series. That’s a series of cigars where vintage limited editions from Davidoff are recreated by the master blenders for a second release. The boxes from the Vintage Blend Series all bare a stamp on the box. The release date for the Davidoff Robusto Intenso is September 14th. Yet it may differ per country.
