Diplomáticos Legendario Edición Regional Launches in Italy

Italy welcomes a new Cuban cigar exclusive with the release of the Diplomáticos Legendario, a Churchill-sized Edición Regional for 2023. Limited to 10,000 boxes, this marks a first for the Diplomáticos brand.

A brand-new Edición Regional has arrived in Italy. The Diplomáticos Legendario officially goes on sale this week, bringing a unique format to the brand for the very first time: the classic Churchill vitola. Measuring 7 x 47, this elegant size has never before appeared under the Diplomáticos label. Originally this release was planned for two years ago. But as is often the case with Cuban regional editions and limited editions, deadlines were not met.

Commissioned by Italian distributor Diadema S.p.A., the Legendario is part of the 2023 Edición Regional series from Habanos S.A. It is priced at €32 per cigar (approximately $37.63) and comes in boxes of 10, with only 10,000 boxes produced for the Italian market.

The Edición Regional programme allows Habanos distributors worldwide to select one special cigar annually, produced in a non-global brand and in a vitola not currently available in that brand’s regular portfolio. While intended as annual releases, these cigars often appear in shops well after their designated year—Legendario being a case in point.

Like all Regional Editions, the Diplomáticos Legendario carries a red and silver secondary band bearing the words Edición Regional Italia, marking its exclusivity.

This release is likely to appeal to collectors and Cuban Churchill enthusiasts alike. It blends the nostalgic appeal of a classic size with the lesser-used Diplomáticos marque, offering a refined smoking experience within a rare format.

With its limited availability and historic significance for the brand, the Legendario is poised to become a coveted release in Italy’s growing collection of Edición Regional cigars.
