Don Conrado Plasencia, Former Factory Director of Tabacos de Oriente, Passes Away
Don Conrado Plasencia, who served as the factory director of the Tabacos de Oriente factory in Honduras for many years, has passed away. He was the uncle of Nestor Andres Plasencia and the brother of Sixto.
Tabacos de Oriente is the factory where the Plasencia Cosecha cigars are made, as well as all Honduran made Rocky Patel cigars and cigars for many other brands. The factory opened in 1978, after the Plasencia family was forced to move due to the Nicaraguan revolution when many of the farms in Nicaragua were burned down. By then, the Plasencia’s had been in Nicaragua for 13 years, after feeling communist Cuba. Even though the Plasencia family eventually moved back to Nicaragua, the Honduran operation was continued with Don Conrado at the helm.
Funeral services for Don Conrado will be held at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Jacksonville, Florida, United States.
