Dos Santos Released a New Cigar at Intertabac

September 28, 2022 Billie 2 min read

While not so popular as in the early 1960s, cigars are still being produced on the Canary Islands with local tobacco. One of the cigar manufacturers from these Spanish islands is Dos Santos and they released a new cigar at InterTabac to celebrate their 100th anniversary called La Regenta 1921.

In 2021 Dos Santos, celebrated its centenary and, although all the celebrations had to be cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. But still, they were able to commemorate the milestone with a total renovation of the image of their cigars. and with the release of a new line, La Regenta 1921, which has been hitting the markets throughout this year. This is what Gara Barreto and Javier Barreto, with the presence of the young but very true Canarian tobacco master, Rubén Arteaga, have presented at InterTabac 2022

What should be highlighted most about La Regenta 1921 is that its blend contains leaves from Remedios, Cuba, from the 2008 crop, with an Habano Ecuador wrapper and a Mexican binder. The new line comes in a media corona, robusto and toro size with a piramide soon to be launched. The piramide will contain a leaf that has been aged in Arehucas 18 year’s rum barrels. Arehucas is a famous rum from the Canary Islands.

There is also a limited edition La Regenta Centenario Gran Reserva, a 6×52 Toro with the same aged Cuban leaf but with the addition of Brazilian tobacco.
