Drew Estate will be Re-releasing the Liga Privada Unico Year of the Rat

The cigar is a 5 1/2 x 46 corona gorda that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Brazilian binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. And even though it carries the name “year of the” and is associated with one of the 12 animals from the Chinese Zodiac calendar, there is no relation between the two.

Drew Estate had a cigar lounge at the BB&T Center where the Florida Panthers play their NHL games. And in 2016 a rat was killed by player Scott Mellanby with his hockey stick in the dressing room. He scored three goals that night with the same stick and the Panthers won the championship. The year was named “year of the rat”.

The cigar was released in 2016 as an exclusive for the lounge at the BB&T Center but has been released in 2020 and 2021 as well in unknown quantities.
