E.P. Carrillo Rebrands as Casa Carrillo to Unite Global Identity

April 11, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

The award-winning cigar company behind acclaimed blends such as Pledge and Encore is now officially known as Casa Carrillo. The rebrand reflects a strategic move to unify the company’s name across its factory, headquarters, and global operations.

A New Chapter for a Storied Name

In a significant step forward, E.P. Carrillo has announced it will now operate under the name Casa Carrillo. While the cigars remain the same in quality and character, the change signals a cohesive rebranding strategy that ties together the company’s U.S. headquarters, its factory in the Dominican Republic, and its expanding global presence.

Founded in 2009 by master blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and his family, the brand originally launched as EPC Cigar Co., before evolving into E.P. Carrillo. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most respected names in the premium cigar world, earning multiple Cigar of the Year awards and a loyal following among aficionados.

Why Casa Carrillo?

The name Casa Carrillo comes from the company’s Dominican factory, formerly known as Tabacalera La Alianza. Opened in 2009, the factory was renamed Casa Carrillo in 2024, a nod to the family legacy and the brand’s core identity. Now, the company takes this one step further by aligning its corporate name with its production home.

By consolidating its identity under one banner, Casa Carrillo positions itself with renewed clarity and purpose. As the company stated, the move reflects both “its heritage and its vision for the future.”

Consistent Craftsmanship, Evolving Vision

Although the name is changing, cigar lovers can expect the same meticulous craftsmanship and bold flavour profiles the Carrillo family is known for. The Casa Carrillo portfolio continues to include top-rated blends like Pledge, Inch, and Encore, all of which are produced at the Santiago-based factory.

The company also collaborates with trusted partners, including Oliva Cigar Co., which produces the Allegiance line for Casa Carrillo. These partnerships remain integral to the brand’s strategy and are expected to continue under the new name.

Looking Ahead

As Casa Carrillo, the company is embracing a more streamlined identity without altering what has made it successful: a deep-rooted commitment to quality, innovation, and tradition. With this rebrand, the Carrillo family reinforces its place not just in the cigar world of today, but as a defining presence for years to come.
