Festival del Habano XXVI Set for February 2026 in Havana
The world’s premier Cuban cigar event returns with Cohiba’s 60th anniversary expected to take centre stage
The 26th Festival del Habano is scheduled to take place in Havana, Cuba, from 23–27 February 2026. Although Habanos S.A. has yet to make a formal announcement, the dates were shared by Intertabak AG, the Swiss distributor of Cuban cigars.
The timing follows tradition, as the festival is typically held during the last week of February. The Festival del Habano is the flagship event for the Cuban cigar industry. It draws a global audience of distributors, retailers, media, and cigar lovers from around the world.
Over the years, attendees have enjoyed a variety of activities, including guided tours of tobacco farms and cigar factories, educational seminars, cigar rolling classes, and a bustling trade show. One highlight is the Habanos World Challenge, a competition for passionate cigar connoisseurs.
The event also serves as a key platform for Habanos S.A. to release financial reports and preview upcoming product launches. This edition will be especially noteworthy as 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of Cohiba, Cuba’s most prestigious cigar brand. It is widely expected that the anniversary will be a major focus of the week’s programme.
Evenings typically include lavish dinners dedicated to specific brands or launches. The closing night features the much-anticipated humidor auction. In 2024, the auction raised an astonishing €16.25 million, setting a record for the most expensive humidor ever sold.
Registration for Festival del Habano XXVI has not yet opened. Interested consumers should contact their local Cuban cigar distributor for details on how to attend what is sure to be another unforgettable celebration of all things Habanos.
