Foundation 10 Year Aniversario Begins Shipping Next Week
Foundation Cigar Co. marks its tenth anniversary with the release of the 10 Year Aniversario, a limited-edition Salomon crafted by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua. This celebratory cigar ships to retailers next week.
A Decade of Foundation
Founded by Nick Melillo, Foundation has become known for blending tradition with innovation. To celebrate ten years, the company is releasing an impressive Salomon format measuring 7 inches by 58 ring gauge at its widest point.
The cigar’s dark hybrid wrapper comes from the Connecticut River Valley, created from broadleaf and Habano seeds. A Brazilian Mata Fina binder supports a filler blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa, and Condega, all grown by Fernandez.
Limited Production
The 10 Year Aniversario will retail for $35 per cigar or $350 per box of 10. Production is capped at 2,000 boxes.
Collectors will also find a rarer 20-count edition, priced at $700, with only 750 boxes made. Both versions feature artwork of St. George slaying the dragon, adding a distinctive touch to the presentation.
Melillo confirmed that only part of the production run is ready for launch, with additional cigars ageing for future staggered releases. Early sell-outs are expected.
Launch Details
The official launch event will be hosted at Micky Blake’s in Southington, Connecticut, on September 10. National shipping will follow shortly after, ensuring fans across the country have access to this special anniversary release.
