Freud Cigar Co. Ships Agapi Limited Edition 2025
Freud Cigar Co. has begun shipping its Agapi Limited Edition 2025, the second release in the line crafted by master blender Eladio Díaz. The cigar follows the 2023 debut but comes with notable changes, including a revised name.
From Agape to Agapi
The first release in 2023 was called Agape, a Greek word for the highest form of love. This year, the spelling changes to Agapi. Gerald Tritt of Freud Cigar Co. explained the switch was made because many pronounced “Agape” incorrectly as “A-gape” instead of “a-gap-e”. Both spellings are correct, but Agapi aims to reduce confusion.
Blend and Construction
The Agapi Limited Edition 2025 is a 6 x 54 torpedo. It features a Mexican-grown wrapper, a hybrid of habano and negro San Andrés harvested in 2017. Beneath that sits a Dominican corojo 99 binder. The filler includes criollo 98, habano 98, negrito Dominicano, and piloto cubano.
While the origins of each leaf are undisclosed, the blend is a mix of Dominican and Mexican tobaccos. Production takes place at Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera in the Dominican Republic.
Limited Production and Pricing
Only 300 boxes of 10 cigars are being produced. Pricing remains at $30 per cigar, matching the 2023 edition. That earlier release was a 5 x 54 robusto gordo made entirely from Dominican tobaccos, including a rare indigenous binder leaf described by Díaz as “autochthonous.”
Shipping to Retailers
Freud Cigar Co. has confirmed that the Agapi Limited Edition 2025 is ready and now shipping to select retailers. With its intricate blend, limited run, and connection to Eladio Díaz, it’s expected to draw strong interest from collectors and aficionados alike.
