General Cigars launches Cohiba C-8 again

October 31, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

The Cohiba C8 returns in a new size and aims to impress discerning smokers with a refined blend and premium packaging.

The Return of C8: What to Know

General Cigar Co. originally introduced the Cohiba C8 in 2021 as a double corona measuring 7½ × 54, sold in 10-count sets and briefcases at a price of US $5,000.

Now the brand brings back C8 in a fresh size: the 7 × 50 Churchill. It features a wrapper from the 2018 harvest in Jalapa, Nicaragua; a Connecticut Broadleaf binder from 2021; and three fillers: Brazilian mata fina (2022), Nicaraguan Estelí (2021) and Jalapa (2022).

Each cigar has an MSRP of US $249.99 and comes in an individual tube inside a 16-count box.

Blend and Construction

Wrapper & Binder

The wrapper uses a Jalapa-harvested leaf from 2018 offering matured tobacco character.
The binder is a Connecticut Broadleaf harvested in 2021, lending richness and body.

Fillers

There are three distinct fillers:

  • Brazilian mata fina from 2022.
  • Nicaraguan leaf grown in Estelí from 2021.
  • Nicaraguan Jalapa leaf harvested in 2022.
Together they deliver complexity and depth.

Packaging & Presentation

Each cigar is individually tubed and the full box holds 16 sticks. This format emphasises exclusivity and care in presentation. It aligns with the brand’s positioning for the C8 line as ultra-premium.

What It Means for Smokers

If you enjoy limited-edition cigars with rare tobacco and meticulous craftsmanship, C8 will appeal. The price tag places it in the high-end category, so expect premium experience and packaging. For those who appreciate the technical side of cigar making, the blend’s provenance and age of leaves are compelling.

However, if value for money or everyday smoking is your priority, this may feel more like a collectible release than a daily go-to. The $250 MSRP price tag makes this cigar out of reach for most cigar smokers.
