Gurkha Heritage Line Gets a New Look with 15-Count Boxes

Gurkha Cigars has given its Heritage line a fresh update, introducing 15-count boxes to replace the previous 25-count packaging. This change is aimed at making the brand more accessible to both retailers and customers. By reducing the box size, Gurkha not only lowers the upfront cost for retailers but also maximises space in humidors, allowing retailers to stock a broader range of products from Gurkha’s ever-growing portfolio.

Jim Colucci, president of Gurkha Cigar Group, emphasised the benefit of this new approach. “What’s more affordable for retailers becomes more affordable for consumers,” he stated. He explained that the change ensures the availability of Gurkha’s iconic lines for cigar enthusiasts without forcing retailers to drop favoured lines due to space or budget limitations.

The Gurkha Heritage range comes in two distinct blends. The original Heritage blend features an Ecuadorian rosado wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a mix of fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Connecticut broadleaf. In contrast, the Gurkha Heritage Maduro uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and fillers from Brazil and Nicaragua. Both blends maintain the quality that Gurkha fans expect, with the only change being the box count.

“Same great blends, same wonderful packaging, just a few cigars less inside the box,” added Juan Lopez, vice president of sales at Gurkha Cigar Group. As the cigar industry shifts away from larger box counts, Gurkha is adapting to meet modern demands.

The Gurkha Heritage cigars are available in two sizes: a 5 x 55 robusto at $9.50 per stick and a 6 1/2 x 54 toro priced at $10.50. Manufactured at American Caribbean Cigars in Nicaragua, these cigars are now available at retailers.
