Habanos Day Celebrates National Final in Mexico City
Habanos Day returns to Mexico City this October with El Desafío, the national final that will decide which pair represents Mexico at the Habanos World Challenge 2026 in Havana. The event takes place on Thursday 16 October at the Cuban Embassy.
Competition will be fierce. Three finalist pairs, fresh from months of training and qualifying rounds, will put their skills and knowledge to the test in front of a live audience. Expect precision cutting, flawless lighting, and deep product knowledge under pressure.
Experience is part of the draw. According to event materials, guests can expect blind tasting sessions, cocktail workshops, and a special MyHabanosMoment pairing challenge. Attendees who complete both workshops will reportedly receive an official certificate.
Perks make the ticket even more attractive. Promotional details suggest the 500 MXN entry price, includes an open bar and a three cigar kit featuring Quintero Brevas, H Upmann Majestic, and Trinidad Vigía.
Winners will be crowned on the night. The victorious pair will secure their place on the international stage in Havana, where they will compete against the best from other nations in 2026. For cigar fans in Mexico City, this is a rare chance to see the country’s top talent go head to head in a world class competition.
