Meissen porcelain
Founded in 1710, Meissen Porcelain is the oldest porcelain producer in Europe. The production of porcelain takes place in Meissen, a city near Dresden, Germany. It is now the most famous porcelain manufacturer known throughout the world. Its signature logo, the crossed swords, was introduced in 1720 to protect its production. The mark of the swords is reportedly one of the oldest trademarks in existence. In English, Dresden porcelain was once the usual term for these wares. This is because Meissen is geographically not far from Dresden which is the Saxon capital.
That porcelain from Meissen is so famous isn’t a surprise. The area around Meissen has both potter’s clay and China clay in abundance. The press release of HENK says this is the first collaboration between the brands, suggesting that there will be more in the near future.
Accessories
HENK is a luxury brand for travel ware such as suitcases, briefcases, and bags. But the company also has gin, cigars (see the reviews of the Maori Haka, Maori Masterpiece, and the Maori Gaudi), and accessories such as the HENK Cigarbone, HENK Minibone, and the HENK Cigartee. There are more accessories on the HENK website. This ashtray is a classic design, where other HENK products are more cutting edge.
