Illusione Adds SE Vitola to Group of Five Line

January 30, 2026 Inspector X 2 min read

Illusione Cigars has expanded its Group of Five series with a second size. The new vitola, known as SE, has already begun shipping to retailers.

A Second Chapter for Group of Five

Group of Five debuted in 2024 as one of Illusione’s more enigmatic releases. The line quickly drew attention through symbolism, secrecy, and limited disclosure. With SE, Illusione continues that approach.

The new SE vitola measures 6 x 56. It delivers a thicker format than the original RB size. Each cigar arrives individually wrapped in bluish-green foil, reinforcing the line’s coded presentation.

This marks only the second vitola in the series. Illusione has confirmed additional sizes will follow.

Blend and Tobacco Details

Like the original release, the Group of Five SE uses exclusively Nicaraguan tobacco. The blend relies primarily on Criollo ’98 and Corojo ’99.

Illusione also includes a higher-priming viso leaf. The company has chosen not to disclose its exact origin. Brand owner Dion Giolito revealed only one detail.

The mysterious tobacco comes from a seed varietal new to Nicaragua. That statement fits squarely within the brand’s long-standing culture of selective transparency.

The blend suggests strength and depth rather than outright aggression. The thicker ring gauge should emphasise texture and complexity.

Production, Pricing, and Availability

Illusione produces the Group of Five SE at Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua. The cigars began shipping earlier this month.

Each cigar carries a suggested retail price of $18.60. Illusione packs them in 15-count boxes for retail sale.

The price point places SE firmly in the premium segment. The presentation supports that positioning.

Symbolism and Hidden Meaning

Group of Five leans heavily into symbolism. The prominent beetle on the band references scarab amulets from ancient Egypt. These objects traditionally symbolised power, protection, and rebirth.

The name itself references a supposed secret society. The group allegedly consists of powerful executives shaping global events. Illusione neither confirms nor denies the lore.

When asked about the meaning of “SE,” Giolito offered only a cryptic answer. He stated the letters represent the initials of an unnamed person.

What Comes Next

Illusione has already confirmed three additional sizes. The company has not shared timelines or dimensions.

Based on precedent, details will likely emerge gradually. Mystery remains central to the Group of Five identity.
