Ireland Welcomes Its First Habanos Regional Edition with the Punch Néctares No. 50

June 24, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Ireland has received its first-ever Habanos Regional Edition cigar: the Punch Néctares No. 50. This exclusive release revives a historic name and marks a milestone for Irish cigar aficionados.

For the first time in its two-decade history, Cuba’s Regional Edition programme has delivered a cigar made specifically for Ireland. The new release, the Punch Néctares No. 50 Exclusivo Irlanda, debuted in Dublin on 23 June 2025 to great fanfare.

The launch was presented by Hunters & Frankau and Ampersand, the official importers for the UK and Ireland respectively. The cigar measures 6¼ inches in length with a 50 ring gauge, and comes in traditional cabinets of 50 cigars. Each box is numbered, and only 1,400 have been produced—totalling just 70,000 cigars worldwide.

Retailing at €65 per stick (roughly $75), the Punch Néctares No. 50 brings back the Néctares name, once a distinguished sub-line of the Punch brand. Originally created for James J. Fox’s stores in Dublin and London, the line was discontinued in the 1980s.

“This is one of the projects I’m most proud of,” said Rob Fox, Managing Director of Ampersand and Chairman of James J. Fox. “We’ve brought back a beloved label and delivered Ireland’s first Regional Edition cigar in the process.”

He added: “The Punch Néctares No. 50 is a phenomenal smoke. It represents our ongoing commitment to Irish cigar culture and honours Punch’s historical legacy.”

This Regional Edition offers Irish smokers something rare and refined—an aged name with a new life, crafted in Cuba and designed specifically for them. With its limited production and historical significance, this cigar is sure to become a collector’s gem.
