J.C. Newman Celebrates 130 Years with Limited Diamond Crown Anniversary Humidor

April 8, 2025 Inspector X 3 min read

To mark its 130th anniversary, J.C. Newman is unveiling a luxurious Diamond Crown Humidor at PCA 2025. Crafted with elegance and filled with rare cigars, it’s a fitting tribute to the company’s enduring legacy.

This weekend at the Premium Cigar Association Trade Show 2025 in New Orleans, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. will mark an extraordinary milestone: 130 years of cigar craftsmanship. In celebration, the company is unveiling the Diamond Crown 130th Anniversary Humidor—a limited-edition masterpiece designed to honour both legacy and luxury.

Each humidor is a striking display of refinement, finished in a high-gloss white piano lacquer, accented with gold hardware, and adorned with bespoke diamond-shaped fittings. The inside is just as impressive, containing five trays housing 130 rare Diamond Crown Belicoso No. 9 cigars—a size that was introduced only recently at Big Smoke Las Vegas in November 2024.

Only 130 humidors will be released, with a suggested retail price of $2,250 USD—a collector’s item and celebration piece all in one.

Diamond Crown is our family’s anniversary cigar,” said Drew Newman, fourth-generation owner. “My great-grandfather created the brand over a century ago. In 1995, my grandfather Stanford J. Newman and Carlos Fuente Jr. created Diamond Crown Classic for our 100th anniversary. It’s only fitting we mark our latest milestone with this humidor.

Founded on 5 May 1895, J.C. Newman remains the oldest family-owned premium cigar maker in the United States. At a time when the U.S. had over 40,000 licensed cigar manufacturers, today only one traditional cigar factory remains: El Reloj, J.C. Newman’s historic base in Tampa, Florida, fondly known as “Cigar City.”

The 130th Anniversary Humidor features the new Diamond Crown Belicoso No. 9—a size crafted to pair with the brand’s updated packaging and timeless flavour profile. “This will be the first time this new size is shared with cigar enthusiasts across the country,” Newman added.

As the first of five new products to be unveiled by J.C. Newman at PCA 2025, the 130th Anniversary Humidor sets the tone for a year of celebration, heritage, and forward momentum.
I didn’t care how long it took, how much it cost, or even whether it would sell. I simply wanted to make the best cigar in the world,” said Stanford J. Newman, when launching Diamond Crown in 1995. To which Carlos Fuente Jr. added: “I made this cigar for a man I loved.”

Those words echo through every detail of this anniversary release—reminding us that the best cigars aren’t just rolled—they’re remembered.
