J. Rob Loud Joins Boutique Cigar Association Board, Succeeding Chet King
The Boutique Cigar Association (BCA) has announced that J. Rob Loud has joined its board of directors, replacing Chet King. Loud brings a wealth of entrepreneurial and technological expertise to the organisation, along with a deep passion for cigars.
A Visionary Leader Joins the BCA
Loud is best known as the CEO of Imcon International Inc., an Atlanta-based technology company he founded in 2017. His most notable innovation is the Internet Backpack, a mobile connectivity solution that delivers internet access to remote and underserved regions across over 90% of the globe. With decades of experience in technology, consulting, and large-scale wireless network projects—including work with Fortune 500 companies—Loud has built a reputation as a forward-thinking leader.
Beyond his tech ventures, Loud is deeply immersed in the cigar world. He is a partner in Empire Social Lounge in Miami and curates the Instagram account TravelingCigars, where he shares his cigar experiences and global adventures.
Championing the Boutique Cigar Industry
“I’m honoured to join the board of the Boutique Cigar Association, a group that’s all about championing the little guys who pour their heart into every cigar,” Loud stated in a press release. “I’m here to help amplify our voice, protect our craft, and keep the flame burning for boutique makers everywhere.”
Loud steps into the role previously held by Chet King, who is departing the board to pursue his dream of opening a premium brick-and-mortar cigar retail business. The BCA expressed its gratitude for King’s contributions, stating: “We celebrate (Chet’s) contributions and unwavering commitment to our organisation. His efforts have been instrumental in shaping the BCA, and we would not be where we are today without him. We wish Chet great success in this exciting new chapter!”
The Role of the Boutique Cigar Association
The Boutique Cigar Association is committed to fostering a strong community of passionate boutique cigar makers, supporting and protecting the industry against challenges. Loud’s addition to the board is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expanded influence, furthering the organisation’s mission to advocate for small cigar manufacturers worldwide.
With Loud’s leadership and dedication, the BCA continues to strengthen its voice, ensuring that boutique cigar brands receive the recognition and protection they deserve.
