Jeremy Piven collaborates with Illusione

Jeremy Piven collaborates with Illusione. The film and television actor, writer & producer has been an avid cigar smoker for about 20 years. He fell in love with cigars on a trip to Cuba. Not just the cigars, but the country and the people too. He’s open about his love for cigars and has been on the cover of Cigar Aficionado more than once. But now he’s entering the cigar industry in a collaboration with Illusione Cigars.

When Piven asked the staff of his favorite cigar lounge who would be able to help him create a cigar, the staff directed him to Dion Giolito from Illusione Cigars. Piven reached out, and the two started talking. As a cigar consumer, Piven knows what he likes, and his goal was to create a cigar he would like. Giolito was the perfect guy to help him with that mission.

PIV Robusto

The cigar gets the name PIV Robusto and is made at the TABSA factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Most likely it’s the first of several vitolas, as the 5×52 robusto is part of the Jeremy Piven Collection. TABSA is the factory of Aganorsa Leaf and is home to many brands including Warped, HVC, Condega, some Gurkha, and also Illusione. The PIV Robusto is a Nicaraguan puro with a new varietal of tobacco that Aganorsa recently started growing. That tobacco is Corojo 2012. All of the tobacco comes from Aganorsa, and the cigar has a double binder.

According to Dion Giolito, the Corojo 2012 gives blenders a unique option for blending. He uses it for the Pic Robusto because of its uniqueness and consistency in flavor. He also says that he could not pass this opportunity as he feels that Piven is truly passionate about the culture and exciting to be part of it. He would not have done it if it was purely a project for profit.
