Joya de Nicaragua Clásico Medio Siglo Gordito Lands in Spain

March 7, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

A new vitola in Joya de Nicaragua’s Clásico Medio line has arrived in Spain, expanding the celebrated series with a compact yet bold format. The Clásico Medio Siglo Gordito, a 4 x 56 cigar, is now available at Spanish retailers, promising an accessible yet flavourful smoking experience.

The Clásico Medio Siglo Gordito features a Nicaraguan habano criollo wrapper encasing a Nicaraguan binder and a blend of Nicaraguan fillers. According to Cristhian Lanzas, marketing manager at Joya de Nicaragua, the cigar is priced at €5.90 ($6.39) per stick in Spain and is available in 20-count boxes. This latest addition follows Joya de Nicaragua’s commitment to crafting premium, well-balanced cigars tailored for aficionados worldwide.

The Clásico Medio Siglo blend first debuted in 2021 as part of Joya de Nicaragua’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Initially, the line was exclusive to international retailers, but four vitolas were introduced to U.S. stores last year. However, these cigars remain available only to retailers participating in Joya’s Club de Amigos of JDN loyalty programme.

In November 2023, Joya de Nicaragua launched a 4 x 56 Gordito vitola in its Clásico Original line, also exclusive to the Spanish market. These cigars are priced identically at €5.90 ($6.39) and come in 20-count boxes, offering Spanish smokers another compact yet rich option.

While the Clásico Gorditos are currently exclusive to Spain, Joya de Nicaragua has hinted at broader availability in the near future. A press release indicated that these cigars “will soon be available worldwide,” raising expectations among cigar lovers eager to experience this latest Nicaraguan blend.
