Kristoff goes Connecticut Shade

May 10, 2022 Inspector Z 1 min read

Kristoff goes Connecticut Shade. But the company is using a Connecticut Shade grown wrapper from Honduras. And that is not the way most others take.

Most Connecticut Shade wrappers come from either the Connecticut River Valley or from Ecuador. For the Kristoff Shade Grown, Glen Case picked a Honduran shade grown wrapper. From Connecticut seeds though.

The fillers for this new line come from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The binder is Dominican. The new blend will be part of the core lines. Three sizes will be released. Those are a 7×50 Churchill, a 5½x54 Robusto, and a 6½x56 Matador.

Corona

It is a surprise that the new Kristoff Shade Grown doesn’t come in a corona. Kristoff has made a push towards that vitola is most of their lines. The last line to include a 5×44 is the Kristoff Pistoff. That cigar is called Lil Pistoff.

The new line will be produced at Charles Fairmorn on the Dominican Republic. Kristoff produces all its core lines at that factory. It is to be expected that the new line will be available for international markets at a the Intertabac trade show in September.
