La Aroma de Cuba Introduces New Connecticut Blend: A Nicaraguan Mild to Medium-bodied Cigar by My Father Cigars

June 8, 2023 Inspector L 2 min read

La Aroma de Cuba, outside the USA known as La Aroma del Caribe, is a brand of cigars made by My Father Cigars but owned by Ashton. There are several blends on the market but a new one should emerge soon, La Aroma de Cuba Connecticut. Just as the other La Aroma cigars, this one is made at My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The filler and binder are all grown by the Garcia Family, the founders and owners of My Father Cigars while the wrapper comes from Ecuador. According to Ashton, every leaf of tobacco in La Aroma Connecticut “undergoes an intensive triple fermentation,” before each cigar is rolled in the entubado style and finished with a Cuban-style, triple cap.

La Aroma de Cuba Connecticut is offered seven sizes ranging from a 5 ½ x44 corona to a 7×50 Churchill. Depending on the size, the cigars come in boxes of 24 or 25.

Ashton carries a milder Connecticut cigar already, the Ashton Classic but company president and CEO Sathya Levin commented that this new release is not the same. “The overall market for Connecticut-wrapped cigars is robust,” Levin says. “This edition offers a fantastic, mild to medium-bodied blend from Nicaragua under the burgeoning La Aroma de Cuba banner in a price range vastly different from Ashton.”
