La Flor Dominicana Expands Its Oro Line with Three New Sizes

October 21, 2025 Inspector X 3 min read

La Flor Dominicana’s bold Oro line is shining brighter than ever. The Dominican brand has announced three new sizes, expanding the popular Oro collection and doubling its range for cigar enthusiasts worldwide.

A Golden Legacy Continues

Originally launched in 2012, La Flor Dominicana’s Oro line quickly earned recognition for its strength, character, and striking presentation. The original trio—Chisel, No. 6 Natural, and No. 6 Maduro—were presented in glossy gold tubos, a packaging style that perfectly reflected the brand’s luxurious image.

Earlier this year, La Flor Dominicana reintroduced those cigars without the tubos, offering them in elegant 20-count boxes. Now, the company is adding three new vitolas to the collection, each crafted to showcase the power and refinement that define the Oro name.

Three New Sizes for Oro

The expanded Oro line now features the following formats, all packaged in 20-count boxes:

  • No. 5 – 6 x 48, priced at $16.80
  • No. 7 – 7½ x 52, priced at $18.75
  • No. 8 – 7 x 60, priced at $18.50

These new cigars balance intensity with elegance, catering to smokers who enjoy a bold, full-bodied experience. Each vitola highlights the rich, complex flavour profile that made Oro a favourite among fans of strong Dominican blends.

Dominican Roots, Refined Power

Every tobacco leaf used in the Oro line is grown on La Flor Dominicana’s La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic, with one exception—the wrapper. The cigars are dressed in a Nicaraguan wrapper similar to that used on the brand’s renowned Coronado series. However, the Oro wrapper comes from a higher priming, resulting in a bolder and more intense smoking experience.

The dry, sunny conditions of La Canela contribute to tobacco with concentrated flavour and natural strength. As a result, Oro delivers the full-bodied character that defines the La Flor Dominicana portfolio. Production takes place at Tabacalera La Flor S.A., ensuring the same quality control and craftsmanship that the Gomez family has built its reputation on.

Gold That Tells a Story

Each Oro cigar bears a distinctive gold band, symbolising brand founder Litto Gomez’s early years as a jeweller—a career he left behind after facing hardship and rebuilding his life through cigars. The golden motif serves as a personal reminder of transformation and resilience.

“What began as a moment of adversity became a story of strength,” says Gomez. “Every cigar we make is personal and has meaning. Oro reminds us that when you build with purpose, nothing is wasted.”

The Oro line remains a perfect embodiment of Gomez’s philosophy—blending craftsmanship, conviction, and creativity into a smoke that’s as meaningful as it is powerful.

A Bright Future for Oro

With these new vitolas, La Flor Dominicana strengthens one of its most emblematic series. The Oro line continues to represent both the brand’s Dominican identity and its commitment to bold, full-flavoured cigars. Available now through retailers, the expanded Oro range offers smokers new ways to experience the brilliance behind La Flor Dominicana’s golden creation.
