La Flor Dominicana Suave Returns With Revamped Blends and Packaging
La Flor Dominicana is set to ship the reimagined Suave line next week. The update includes new blends, refined vitolas, and striking red-and-gold packaging featuring the Paso Fino horse.
A Legacy Reborn
The Suave line has deep roots within La Flor Dominicana. Originally launched in 1994 as the Premium Line, it evolved over time into Suave. For 2025, Litto Gomez and his team have reworked the line from the ground up. Both the blend and the presentation now reflect decades of experience.
Two Distinct Blends
Suave Natural
The Suave Natural uses an Ecuadorian corojo-seed wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder. Dominican fillers round out the profile. This marks a departure from the old Suave Light, which relied on an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper and Dominican tobaccos.
The Natural is available in three sizes:
Maceo (6 x 48) — $8.40 (Box of 20, $168)
Máximo (6 x 54) — $11.80 (Box of 20, $236)
Gobernador (6 1/4 x 60) — $12.80 (Box of 20, $256)
Suave Grand Maduro
For those seeking a richer smoke, the Suave Grand Maduro offers depth with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. It pairs with a Jalapa binder from Nicaragua and Dominican fillers.
It comes in two box-pressed vitolas:
No. 5 (6 1/4 x 52) — $11.80 (Box of 20, $236)
No. 6 Torpedo (6 3/4 x 54) — $12.80 (Box of 20, $256)
A Bold New Look
Alongside the revamped blends, La Flor Dominicana has refreshed the Suave’s image. The red-and-gold bands and boxes showcase the Paso Fino horse, symbolising elegance and energy.
Tony Gomez describes the new design as “bright and bold yet classic,” comparing it to the smooth joy of riding through the company’s farms on a Paso Fino horse while enjoying a cigar.
