La Flor Dominicana Announces Apollonia for TAA 2025
La Flor Dominicana has revealed its 2025 Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) Exclusive, the Apollonia—a refined and rare combination of a box-pressed lonsdale format with a Cameroon wrapper. The cigar will be produced in limited quantities, adding to the growing anticipation surrounding this year’s TAA releases.
A Distinctive Blend and Format
The La Flor Dominicana Apollonia measures 6½ x 44 and features a Cameroon wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers. This composition balances sweetness, spice, and earthiness—hallmarks of both Cameroon tobacco and La Flor Dominicana’s Dominican craftsmanship.
According to the TAA, the cigar will retail for $20 per cigar and come in boxes of 20, with only 1,500 boxes produced. While a specific shipping date has yet to be confirmed, distribution will be limited to participating TAA retailers.
The name Apollonia appears to pay tribute to Apollonia Corleone, the first wife of Michael Corleone from The Godfather. The character, portrayed by Simonetta Stefanelli in the 1972 classic, evokes elegance and tragedy—qualities reflected in the cigar’s refined yet powerful presentation.
About the TAA and Its Exclusive Releases
The Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) unites roughly 80 retailers and 40 manufacturers. Its annual event—held this year at Casa de Campo in La Romana, Dominican Republic—features collaborative buying opportunities, discussions on industry challenges, and a showcase of exclusive cigar releases.
Each year, around a dozen manufacturers debut limited cigars for the TAA Exclusive Series Program (ESP). Participating brands contribute at least 50 cents per cigar to the organisation, supporting industry advocacy and education.
A Star Among 2025 TAA Exclusives
The Apollonia joins a strong 2025 TAA lineup that includes releases from Casa Carrillo, CLE, Crowned Heads, Ferio Tego, J.C. Newman, Knuckle Sandwich Cigars, and Plasencia.
With its elegant proportions, rare Cameroon wrapper, and cinematic inspiration, the La Flor Dominicana Apollonia stands as one of the most intriguing and collectible TAA exclusives of the year.
