La Mezcla Cubana Returns to the Shelves
When Victor Vitale, a cigar distributor in the northeast of the United States, sold the brand to United Cigars in 2013, the brand completely disappeared. Vitale founded the brand in 2006. But now United Cigars is bringing back the brand, with a new blend.
The idea of relaunching La Mezcla Cubana came when United Cigars was able to buy a 7 year old Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper from renowned tobacco grower ASP. Under that wrapper you will find an Indonesian binder and filler from Nicaragua, Pennsylvania USA and the Dominican Republic.
For now there is only one vitola available and that’s a 4½x54 Rothschild. They come in boxes of 50 cigars and are made at Tabacalera Magia Cubana in the Dominican Republic.
“My morning commutes have become much more agreeable,” says Oliver Nivaud, director of operations at United Cigars. “This blend works well with the aged wrapper, perfect distraction to the day at an inflation resistant price.”
